Arcadia
The 2023 writers’ strike unveiled the belated need for a new creative haven and a better system to facilitate its production. Formal art colonies have been established since the 19th century. The arts deserve a new ecosystem rooted in holistic artistry and creative sovereignty that challenges the commodified nature of traditional creative systems.
Arcadia is building a charter city in Puerto Rico designed to reshape the global creative economy by providing artists and creative institutions with the physical, economic, and digital infrastructure they need to flourish. We exist to establish a decentralized and bespoke infrastructure that fosters an unparalleled cultural renaissance, drawing the most flourishing artists and creative institutions in the world. We are curating the centerpiece for a new creative era, akin to how Los Angeles and Hollywood defined the entertainment industry or Florence shaped the Renaissance.
OpportunityThe CTO at Arcadia is responsible for architecting and building ArcadiaOS, the digital operating system that powers Arcadia’s decentralized creative economy. This role defines the technical foundation of Arcadia’s identity, governance, and IP systems. You will design and implement the core infrastructure that connects residents, enterprises, and institutions through an API driven architecture that replaces bureaucratic administration with transparent and programmable coordination.
As CTO, you will develop ArcadiaOS as an integrated digital layer that handles identity, ownership, payments, and data flows across the entire Arcadia ecosystem. You will build early prototypes, integrate external protocols and APIs, and create a modular framework that can scale from individual studios to a fully operational charter city. This is a hands-on engineering and architecture role, not a management role.
This position requires a technical visionary who understands decentralized systems, full stack development, API integrations, and the design of interoperable digital infrastructure. The CTO ensures that ArcadiaOS remains reliable, adaptive, and aligned with Arcadia’s mission to build a transparent, efficient, and user owned creative economy.

• Create technical standards that ensure reliability, security, and scalability across all digital components.
• Develop the API driven foundation that links studios, residents, institutions, and creative tools into one coherent system.
• Establish the long term technical roadmap for ArcadiaOS and guide its evolution from prototype to city-scale infrastructure.
